Fly control

There are many types of flies in the U.K. the main species of pest flies are:-

House Fly (Musca domestica)

Lesser House Fly (Fannia canicularis)

Cluster Fly (Pollenia rudis)

The Green and Blue Bottle flies (Calliphora spp)

The Fruit and Vinegar Flies (Drosophila spp)

 

Control

There is not always one method of control for Flies, a combination of methods maybe required. This depends on the situation and which type of fly is the problem.

As with all pest control the three key methods are :-

Exclusion :- This is achieved with the use of fly screens on windows and doors.

Restriction :- This is achieved with good housekeeping and cleaning, combined with restricting flies any place to breed.

Destruction :- This includes the use of Electric fly killers and Insecticides.
